HOW TO GAIN WEIGHT
Before I start, let me remind you of something... I am a fat person. My diet is really unhealthy and bad for my body. So when I say "you can gain weight without losing your clothes" I don't mean just putting on one pound in six months and feeling great about it. This is the most important tip - lose this stupid habit. The next thing that will help you gain weight is exercise. This is another thing that you have to do if you don't already like exercising. Exercise not only helps you burn calories but also helps improve your overall health. You will no longer notice how huge you are if you work out twice a week. In the first part of this guide, I will talk more about that later.
What is overweight?
A lot of people think that obesity means too much weight but there is a good definition for it. Obesity is a complex disease involving an excessive amount of body fat. Your fat cells have gotten so big that they make you store energy differently than other tissues of your body. They don't have enough glucose molecules for their metabolism to work, which makes them burn calories rather than glucose. If you were having too many fat cells in your body, it would be causing insulin resistance which affects your cholesterol levels. Insulin Resistance is a common problem to most people and usually happens due to poor eating habits and bad lifestyle habits. When you have high levels of these things happening, the rest of the world thinks that your health is poor. But that is a very wrong thing because your diet, lifestyle, and exercise should be the best parts of your life. All these factors affect your health and fitness levels. It's better to be healthy overall than to have one or two bad health issues than to get sick from some diseases.
How does one measure excess pounds?
The simplest way to know if you are over a pound is by checking your waistline with a measuring tape. Most people use around three feet as the measurement. Everyone has about a size 11-14 waistline which is an average of the sizes of a male's body. The exact measurements can be different but the main idea is that the widest part of your lower back is above your shoulders. In the case of anyone under 30 (or smaller) then they're under 5'8". That's why the width measurement is done at the neck. By working out at a challenging pace (4-6 reps) you will achieve muscle tone and reduce your waistline.
Once you get used to walking around your house in nice tight clothes to prevent unwanted belly fat growth, you'll see the difference quickly. I've been doing 8-10 minutes of brisk walk a day and not even once has I had a gut feeling of being full. And on days when I go out for long distances, I'm barely worried about catching up and running late to finish the meal. These small changes can result in noticeable weight loss within weeks (depending on your age). The reason is simple - your appetite goes down as well as your calorie intake. As soon as you eat less and the digestion is faster, your appetite starts creeping up again.
How could I find out how much I have gained?
The easiest way to know when your body has stopped increasing your fat storage is by keeping track of your water intake. You must keep a watchful eye on what food you eat. Keep note of what you eat and what your family eats. Then after each meal take a look at the list on the side table for sugar. While you're doing this, check for salt and caffeine; sometimes those may contribute to extra weight gain.
How to maintain weight?
Another tip to maintain your weight is proper sleep. Lack of sleep is not an option. Even the smallest of fluctuations in your sleeping pattern cause your muscles to burn at double speed. It creates a vicious cycle that causes you to wake up earlier than normal. With that said, you should try and do as much as possible before bed. For example: if you stay asleep for eight hours (24/7) you only need 7-8 hours of sleep. However, if you fall asleep for 2-4 hours, sleep for 12 hours and do not recover till 4 in the morning. The last tip for maintaining your weight is doing regular workouts every now and then. Not only does it burn your abs, but all your muscles burn that too.
To conclude, if you want to lose weight, cut out alcohol, sugary and processed foods, avoid junk food and unhealthy sedentary lifestyle habits. Instead, focus on healthier cooking methods. Good quality proteins, vegetables, and whole grains will give you less and you will live a healthy life.
